Give a hand to the booming Electronics & Information Manufacturing Industry in northern China
The Bohai Electronics Week 2006 (BEW06), held in Tianjin International Exhibition Center from November 1 to 3 in 2006, will offer a raft of innovative market solutions.
The geographical location of the Bohai Bay Area includes two municipalities directly under the central government of Beijing - Tianjin, and the provinces of Liaoning, Hebei and Shandong with the economic hinterland covering North China, Northeast China, Northwest China and the Central Plains. The significant economic development of this region will directly impact the general economic development of greater northern China. The Bohai Bay Area, adjacent to Japan and Korea, is located at the central part of the Northeast Asia economic zone and serves as a gateway for trade and international economic co-operation. As one of the most economically vigorous regions in the orient, Northeast Asia accounts for 20 percent of total GDP in the world and more than 70 percent in Asia. As a result, most experts in China's economic circle believe that North China is a fertile ground for business with regional economies. In many ways, the Northern provinces redress some of the imbalances created by the strong manufacturing capabilities of southern and eastern China. Indeed, the Bohai Bay Area is situated at the juncture of the two imbalances, helping to balance the scales of economic trade. State level planning n the 1980s and 1990s boosted the economic development of Shenzhen and Pudong respectively. Indeed, trade in the Yangtze Delta and Pearl River Delta is now booming with the successful revitalization of an old base in Northeast China which has helped to close the gap between the economic development of eastern and western China. The establishment of the Binhai New Area in Tianjin has become an important step to drive economic development and has helped to settle the imbalance in China's economic development. Tianjin Binhai New Area now includes Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area and Tianjin Free Trade Zone, covering three large districts of Tianjin Harbor, Tanggu, Hangu and part of Dongli and Jinnan District. Geographically the whole area makes up 2270 square kilometers. Tianjin has brought forward the proposal of an intensive construction of 7 industrial zones including advanced manufacturing zone, hi-tech zone, airport-based logistics zone, seaport-based logistics zone, Bihai chemical zone, Binhai Central commercial zone, coastal leisure and tourism zone in Binhai New Area. Like those in Pearl River Delta and Yangtze Delta, the electronic information manufacturing industry plays a leading role in the economic development of The Bohai Bay Area. The electronic information manufacturing industry in Tianjin, for example, reached an investment figure of RMB 15.6 billion and 192 investment projects during the 10th 5-year plan, of which 10 projects such as the expansion project of SMIC, the expansion project of Samsung Mobile and Hi-tech Green Industrial Base amounted to an investment of over RMB 100 million. According to the statistics of 60 categories of key electronic information products published by the Ministry of Information Industry, 40 categories of the products manufactured in Tianjin ranked among top 5 in the market share throughout the country and 17 categories of products ranked No.1. There are 22 categories of basic electronic components manufactured in China, of which 11 categories manufactured in Tianjin ranked among top 3 in market share. In past five years, the sales revenue of the electronics & information industry has increased from RMB 67 billion in 2000 to RMB 195.9 billion in 2005 with the average annual growth rate of 24 percent, 26.7 percent of the industrial sales revenue of the whole municipality. It is expected that the sales revenue of the electronics & information industry in 2010 will reach RMB 395 billion which will include RMB 355 billion in the electronic information product manufacturing industry, RMB 15 billion in software industry and RMB 25 billion in information service industry. Lou Qinjian, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Information Industry, recently pointed out at the summit forum in Tianjin on the development of the Chinese cellular phone market that Tianjin has strong overall strength and the obvious industrial advantages especially in the fields such as mobile communication and basic components. In addition, with strong industrial support capacity and highly developed cluster groups, Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area is a key state-level communication industry park designated by the Ministry of Information Industry. He emphasized that the Ministry of Information Industry will continue to support the development of Electronics & Information Industry in Tianjin, create a more favorable industrial environment, facilitate the construction of corresponding bases and parks and bring the clustering effect of the bases and parks into full play, thus boosting up the development of information industry in Tianjin and The Bohai Bay Area. These favorable conditions prompted Reed Exhibitions and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Electronics & Information Industry Sub-council to develop the Bohai Electronics Week (BEW) in order to help the development of the electronics & information industry in North China. This unique exhibition covers a comprehensive range of manufacturing solutions from electronic to manufacturing equipment and offers an efficient trade platform. In 2005, BEW housed 94 exhibitors and hosted over 3,036 local and international visitors (after the certification by BPA) in the 6,000 square meter exhibition hall. BEW 06 will be held in Tianjin International Exhibition Center from November 1 to 13. Up to now, a host of esteemed companies such as Tianjin Jin Yun, Senju, Sinoview, Cookson Alpha Metals, Heller, Floungwin, Nihon Superior, Mei Lu and Jian Shi Da have signed up for the exhibition. Running alongside the exhibition will be a PCB area that will display stands from a variety of leading enterprises involved in PCB in North China including Tianjin Pulin, Dalian Pacific, Hebei Hangling. A group of notable agencies and organizations such as the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and Singapore Manufacturer's Federation has organized a Korean and Singaporean delegation to participate in the exhibition. During this exhibition, a senior seminar on test mounting, testing and PCB organized by America's SMTA will run throughout the whole exhibition period. These guests of honor will be joined by a group of 300 senior managers (VIP visitors) from reputable enterprises such as LG, Nokia, Lenovo, Toshiba, Molex, Samsung and Haier, who have already confirmed their pre-registration. BEW 06 will offer exhibitors a whole set of market solutions including pre-exhibition reserved business meetings, pre-show marketing and promotion, international visitor delegations to various industrial parks. They will also provide greater insight into the investment and preferential policies of the Bohai Bay Area, while simultaneously allowing face-to-face communication with senior management of famous enterprises such as Motorola, Samsung and Yamaha. Dan Londero, the Greater China President of Reed Exhibitions Group, comments on the strong investment potential of this booming area: "the annual output value of the Electronics & Information Industry in the Bohai Bay Area accounts for 30 percent of that of China's electronic information industry, and more and more suppliers are eager to enter into the economic region of high-speed development and fully communicate and cooperate with local electronic manufacturers. Under such market environment, BEW 06 will offer them an efficient communication and cooperation platform"BEW 06 will enable you to take advantage of China's booming northern market! As an astute supplier, are you ready to grasp this unique business opportunity"?
