Bohai Electronics Week 2005 Spotlights Industry Boom in North China

With North China an increasingly important stage for electronics manufacturing, Reed Exhibitions today announced Bohai Electronics Week 2005, a major one-stop event in Tianjin for companies to make contacts and capitalize on the rapidly expanding opportunities in the region.
The Bohai Bay Area is one of China’s most vital economic engines. Eleven of the country’s 32 major cities are located within 500 kilometers of the Area. Major cities in the Bohai Economic Ring include Beijing, Dalian, Yantai, Qingdao, Jinan and Shenyang. The combined population of Beijing and Tianjin, well known as north China’s strongest consumer group, is more than 20 million.

It was the needs of such exhibitors seeking contacts with the large companies located in North China, a market with 27% of China’s electronics industry output, that prompted the launch of Bohai Electronics Week. The show was also created to serve the procurement needs of those companies in the region.

“Launching the exhibition in North China fits Reed Exhibition’s strategy to become China's leading organizer of electronics manufacturing trade shows. It builds on the success with
the high profile Nepcon series of electronics industry events in China. Reed Exhibitions is
the organizer of Nepcon China in Shanghai and Nepcon South China in Shenzhen”, says
Ms. Josephine Lee, Vice President of Reed Exhibitions China

Bohai Electronics Week, co-organized by the CCPIT Electronics & Information Industry Sub-Council and TEDA’s administrative commission, is expected to draw a strong contingent of
200 international and regional players and provide extensive market opportunities in the electronics manufacturing segment.

Bohai Electronics Week has created strong interest from electronics assemblers, test and measurement companies as well as components exhibitors, especially from Japan, Korea, Singapore and China, including the Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan Province.

In order to push trade deals, a Procurement Pavilion will be set up. Buyers will come to the Pavilion to advertise their procurement needs for items such as components and sub-assemblies. Exhibitors will be able to meet these major buyers in the region and conduct business discussions.

Top buyers will be invited and hosted at the event to assure their attendance. The major industrial parks and government agencies in North China will also support the recruitment of these top buyers.

Numerous learning platforms including The Business and Technical Conference and Workshops as well as Product and Technology Seminars have been created for visitors to learn and share the latest technology trends. Here, exhibitors will be able to share their expertise by participating in the conference and maximize their competitive advantage through these various learning platforms.

BEW is expected to attract 8,000 buyers and trade visitors.
